Framework-Tuscaloosa's City-Wide Planning Process
Information on Tuscaloosa's city-wide planning process is available on the Framework website.
Due to the City curfew and other restrictions in place because of the Corona Virus outbreak, the public hearings on Framework have been suspended. There may only be a two week notice before they resume. TNT will monitor the legal notices and inform our members when a new schedule is posted.
The March 4th meeting did proceed as scheduled, but there were a number of irregularities in the public hearing, especially with respect to the review of the area maps for the Downtown/University area and West Tuscaloosa. TNT wrote a letter to the Mayor, City Councilors, The Planning and Zoning Commission Chair, and the Planning Department recommending several improvements. You can read the letter here.
The January 31, 2020 draft of the proposed plan, which includes guiding principals and a land use map is available here.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PLAN IS STILL BEING UPDATED AND EDITED. THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION. TNT WILL PROVIDE UPDATES AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE.
You may send comments to the City Planning Dept. in care of Ashley Crites acrites@tuscaloosa.com
Serena Fortenberry is TNT's representative for Framework. You can send her comments via this website
